CHLC REPORT
Special Edition: V2.5 Maps: May, 1994
UPDATED INTEGRATED MAPS
Jeffrey C. Murray, M.D.
Principal Investigator
Summarized in this report is the latest update of
maps developed by the CHLC
(version 2.5). These maps represent extensions of the previously distributed
V2.0 Integrated Genome-wide maps. Genetic map locations within these maps is
available for a total of 521 markers developed through the CHLC. The CHLC
markers are high heterozygosity tri-, tetra-, and penta-nucleotide simple
tandem repeat polymorphisms.
In addition to maps presented here,
a new generation of scaffold maps
composed solely of uniquely ordered CHLC markers is available electronically.
These maps, as well as more detailed information on the V2.5 framework maps
and the primer sequences and PCR conditions necessary to characterize the STRPs
developed through the CHLC are available through:
ftp.chlc.org (anonymous ftp)
gopher.chlc.org
http://WWW.CHLC.org/
For information on how to obtain electronic access to the CHLC maps and
resources, send e-mail to:
info-server@chlc.org
Additional markers and maps will be available in late summer, 1994 which will
include not only additional CHLCderived markers but also updated versions of
markers provided through the CEPH database. As before, inquiries about these
maps can be obtained by contacting any of the project investigators.
